Kent is passionate about activating change and challenging individuals and organizations to tap into their leadership potential. He is the former President of Safeway Health, an early stage health benefits solution and service provider supporting total worker health strategies for large commercial clients. He also served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for Safeway where he provided advisory support to the major business line leaders as well as the internal culture of health efforts.
Kent’s military career was noted for his rapid promotion and selection to lead in complex environments that ranged from Operation Nimrod Dancer in Panama, Operation Support Hope in Rwanda, Joint Endeavor in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. He has led civic action initiatives in Honduras, Bolivia, Kuwait, and Thailand.
Kent is a retired Army Colonel, graduate of the United States Military Academy and has a Master in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, an eMBA from the University of Denver, and his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.
He is on the Board of Directors for the Dignity Health System, Board of Directors of US Healthworks, an advisory member to several health technology companies. He is also the founder and Chairman of the Board of Core Communities, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of the Downtown Artery, and adjunct faculty of the Daniels College of Business.
